
SCIENTIFIC ADVISORY BOARD
Dogwood’s Scientific Advisory Boards was developed for external scientific review of R&D activities and to assist Dogwood management in its responsibility to make significant scientific judgments related to its R&D activities and portfolio. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) is chaired by Dr. Iain Dukes and membership is comprised of Dr. Mike Gendreau, Dogwood’s Chief Medical Officer and Ralph Grosswald, Senior VP of Operations.
Dr. Dukes is a venture partner at OrbiMed Advisors and has held senior leadership positions across several major pharmaceutical companies. He previously served as senior vice president and head of business development and licensing at Merck Research Laboratories and was vice president of external research and development at Amgen. Earlier in his career, he led scientific and technology licensing at GlaxoSmithKline and directed the company’s ion channel drug discovery group, experience directly relevant to Dogwood’s lead drug candidate.
He also served as president and CEO of Essentialis Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on rare metabolic diseases, and currently sits on the boards of public biotechnology companies Ikena Oncology and Traws Pharma, in addition to several privately held life sciences companies.
Purpose
The purpose of the SAB shall be to help maximize the value of the Company's investment in pharmaceutical research and development. In furtherance of this purpose, the Committee shall:

Review and assess current and planned research, development programs and technology initiatives from a scientific perspective, and from time to time provide observations and strategic recommendations to the Board;

Provide strategic advice to the Executive team and Board regarding emerging science and technology trends; and

Periodically review the Company's patent strategy and its portfolio of strategic patents.
